They leave the shop, someone comes in when they're gone and the artifact goes byebye and prolly the clerk dies. Unless the clerk is working for the badguys, then he just goes and makes a call while the guys are down the street. Yeah, I cna see somethign liek that happening. Let's hope for the third option.
