It's about channelling power from the same dimension that gives the gods their power and home, but is not linked to the gods directly. Morth is a sorcerer <em>and</em> he is a Patterner devotee, not <em>because</em>. We haven't met any 'good' mages in the comic, but they exist. Necromancy interrupts and subverts Mort's processes. It's in opposition to a specific Just God, but isn't aligned to any particular Dark God. No, magic is a resource all its own.
