We certainly didn’t used to. Ten or fifteen years ago, that was pretty much the British response. However, Halloween is contagious, and though we don’t adopt it with the same zeal and passion as the US, no longer do we deride it either.
From a webcomic point of view, though, it’s mostly just fun to draw characters in costume and shit. So there is that. Most of what I see in real life is the supermarkets trying to sell Halloween related stuff.
Halloween webcomics tend to be fun , because many of them have a tradition of dressing their characters up as other comics’ characters- the most common being the “Penny Arcade” duo.
Then everyone else just does something fun and unusual, like this.
I dunno about you joyless southerners, but we did Halloween quite enthusiastically in suburban NW England when I were a kid. Probably not as enthusiastically as the Americans, but still. My youth definitely had costumes and sweets and parties and vegetable-based lanterns (but turnip rather than pumpkin).

Halloween is celebrated pretty much…everywhere. Although, I’m pretty sure the original Day of the Dead was celebrated in…somewhere in Europe. XD Anyways, it’s not just an American holiday.
The day of the dead, at the beginning of November, has nothing to do with Halloween. All Hallow’s Eve is a day for “out with the old” before November 1st, All Saint’s Day. The idea behind the modern celebration started when children would go door-to-door, begging candy, money, or other treats from the homeowner, and they would say a prayer on the home in exchange.
Originally people believed that Evil Spirits would try to ruin the Most Holy of Days where they celebrated the Hallowed Souls (Saints), known as All Hallows day. But, since that was such a Holy Day, the Spirits could not intervene directly. So they had to lay their traps and play their tricks the day before, All Hallow’s Eve, in an attempt to make everyone too miserable to celebrate.
Therefore, Halloween has it’s roots in Catholicism.
Also, the Jack-O-Lantern, as stated above to originally have been a Turnip carved out, was designed to keep those Unholy Spirits away from the house of the bearer by scaring them. So that the residents would not fall for traps and tricks, and be able to celebrate the Saints the next day.
1. Get 1 drink, spill it on my shirt (so I smell drunk).
2. Pour out my drinks fill them with water( wait, I’m going somewhere with this)
3. Make it quite obvious how drunk I am’
4.Entice everyone else to drink ’til they drop
5 Once everyone’s passed out, steal their wallets.
6. Steal all the booze and food.
7. Take it all home, lock the door, and have my own party.

Huh…I honestly think this is the goriest comic yet. Graphic depictions of our “heroes” getting their knees broken, sawed in half, heads blown off, caved in, and cut off. I love it.
Sure, we’ve seen decapitations and brutal killings before, but those were mostly off-panel. This is our first on-screen depiction of brutality, and it’s awesome.
For a moment I thought this would be the start of a new story arc, it got that serious in its tone. But apperently they decided it would make a good dream/visual metaphor sequence for the intense hatred from Lothar about the party.

Also, New England got hit with a hurricane recently (And for the second year in a row). 55 people were killed, New York City is closed, and lots of people don’t have electricity right now. Our Halloween has been postponed to November 6th.
This exact same thing happened in 2011 with Hurricane Irene. Luckily I made preparations to protect the Manufactorum so I still have electricity. Thank you Omnissiah, fuck you mother nature.
It wasn’t just New York and New Jersey. It’s reaching all the way from the Appalachians into Canada. For those unaware, This storm wiped out our East Coast here in the United States.
It was headed north, and missed the U,S. entirely- But then it met with an Arctic storm, FUSED with it, and the whole goddamn thing grew and TOOK A LEFT TURN. Nobody knows how in the hell it managed that. I’m fine, being in the Central U,S., but this country’s going nuts. This is being touted as the worst storm on record. Imagine a hurricane- frozen. Lothar’d love it.

Lots of explosions, people imploding on themselves and forming black holes, eventually planets gaining enough mass to become stars for a brief moment before the entire universe is one big black hole (except for those who made it outside (82 time-copies of me and counting)), then everything just… winks out of existence. Very entertaining to watch. Bring deepfried popcorn, or puppy guts.

You should start uploading the full-res images of these, I’d love to see them in more detail. I think I remember you had a link to a higher resolution for a page you did a while back, might have had the dialogue cut, as well.
