Milla Jovovich?
I will now read the remainder of ArachnoSkank’s lines in Milla’s voice & accent. Congratulations.
I’m waiting for Eastwood to get over his panic enough to “I told you so” Virus. I suspect we’re sadly past the, “I FUCKING KNEW IT,” outburst’s optimum moment (alas) but that just means he gets to be more coherent. Or not; I’m happy either way.
I’m trying to imagine Milla’s voice but it keeps getting overwritten by my first impression, Jennifer Hale.
So that’s what she looks like without makeup on….

Btw, the spider’s face from the 7th panel is so familar to me.. Dunno why. Maybe her face reminds me some character form a cartoon show, but still can’t recall.

I always assumed she had red hair. I did look into the sun as a child, and as a result suffer from some form of color blindness that makes the sun look pink/purple and gives everything a different hue from standard, but I have no real problem distinguishing colors that practice and training couldn’t fix…

As much as I enjoy the joke, she’s definately a Black Widow. Redbacks have a vertical red stripe along the back/top of their abdomen. Living in Australia I see the fuckers all the time.
While you Aussies get two of the top five most deadliest spiders, us up in North America get the black widow. After an excruciating minute of research, aka googling the names of the spiders, that red hourglass-like shape is a dead giveaway that it’s a black widow. But since i have never heard of a spider talking, who am I to let reality get in the way of a good story?

Soooo…I really wanna know what this daemon IS. I know that not every daemon can be easily categorized by colors, builds or motifs (the shapeshifters from the beginning and that one thing The B-Team was fighting when Tempest came in is evidence enough of that).
It’s rather clearly a Patterner daemon of some sort. Spider-motif, talent for illusions and treachery. But what IS it? I don’t know if we’ll get any kind of info on this lady, but geez, the thirst for knowledge is overpowering.
Also what happened to those cultists? And Lothar and Rogue for that matter? QUESTIONS, but hopefully they’ll be answered soon. Great comic guys!

I’m not actually sure it IS a Patterner daemon. Likely related, but not actually Patterner. (I will happily stand corrected if it is shown to be otherwise.) It’s not as if all daemons have to work(?) under one of the big four: there was that one whale/sea daemon god with the long name that Virus and Rogue prevented the resurrection of. This somewhat seductive spiderly schemer could be operating solo. Or at least with her own group of daemons.
The earlier comics in this storyline suggested she has her own separate cult following, centered around the hourglass motif.
I rather heavily suspect that those cultists were “rewarded” either “as a traitor deserves” or with “the greatest honor she can bestow”.
Has there ever been a instance where cultists have actually gotten their promised reward?
How do you know that it wasn’t what the cultists have always wanted?
And have had plenty of “dreams” about? …. like those cultists in the Hellraiser movies?
Morth did. But then again, he was a cult leader dealing directly with a greater demon for it, and all of his followers are gone, and HE ended up learning just what his place was on the demonic food chain in the end… so 0.5 of them? Still, he DID get his immortality, such as it was.
I said cultists, not cult leaders.

I’ve had plenty of cultists get what they want, but only because of inept PCs. When you’re a cultist trying to summon Cthulhu you get what you ask for; madness and death.
The spider threads being used as puppet strings is a nice touch.

In Mila Jovovich’s first movie she played LeeLuu or similar sounding name. The element of “love” given human form. She had a german or russian accent throughout the movie as English apeared to be her second language

I was going to express alarm at the implication that Eastwood and Virus had been wandering around for much longer than they thought, but then I went back and saw that Simmons had mentioned the pilgrims being missing for weeks.

Ya know, she kind of reminds me of a Keeper of Secrets, what with the whole “knows your deepest and darkest secrets” thing. Of course, I think in this case it’s been heavily implied that she’s been invading their minds-or at least Harry’s mind- for some time now.

I’m wondering if her invasive taunting and our more violent heroes’ lack of presence isn’t somehow linked. This is a monastery devoted to keeping a gate closed. She might be as interested in keeping other gods and their daemons out of real space as the forces of light.
Her giving them the deluxe package of paranoia, horror, and seductive torture is the sort of fun she’d enjoy inflicting and Lothar would enjoy watching. Especially after Sitting Duck. I’m imagining any moment Lothar and Rogue joining them, laughing at the other two, and working with the spider to keep the gate closed. Or just watch her do everything since they’re both lazy and under orders to do nothing but look.

Funny enough, I’m pretty sure I know the original creator (Name was Jen’, better know as the “Angry Engineer”). Gotta say this one seems different only in that the feet are still similar to spider legs and the abdomen is considerably larger.

Rose the Weaver, as the Cesspool spider is called, has a more humanoid primary pair of legs, with extras sprouting from her back. Here’s a hi-res, should be clearer to see.
That explains that. *nods* And sweet hi-res shot. I can see the difference clearly here, it’s a nice touch if we put together different breeds and such. Rose always did stand out a bit different.

By the by, compare this lovely lady to the one to the right of the Everchosen in strip 472. Now that we have a good look at her, I’m more certain than ever that they’re one and the same. That just leaves the question of how she fits into the scheme of those artifacts from Inquisitor Kortez’s seminar.
I’m really hoping this spider-gal becomes a recurring character. She seems like she could be fun to watch in action like Morth was.

Well she could just as well be toying with them. Demons are twisted like that after all. Given the build up to this reveal I’m certain that the outcome/chain of events that’ll follow will be all that simple.

Well Considering she is a Black Widow Spider even if she has a thing for them they are dead if they don’t get out of this. After all Black Widow Spiders are called that for a reason. And it’s not cause the males always live long and fruitful lives.
From this page, I can see three things happening:
1) Revelation that she gain knowledge from every spider that has ever lived from her creation on, meaning if a spider was there while you were sitting on the toilet jerking off, she would know it.
2) Lother and Rogue basically plowing through all the guards outside with very little trouble, only to get one-shotted by the spider demon.
3) The other have to save Harry from being the unwilling sperm donor for her impending brood army of baby spider demons.
knowing these guys they’d just leave Harry to his doom and go get Schwarmas or something

Oh, and in Sye’s defense, an over active bladder is a more common medical problem then most people think. It can last well into adult hood for some people. Sye is actually lucky it stopped at 16.

I use WordPress and my emotions were mixed when I came across this.
I felt downhearted because I had already spent a lot on fancy WordPress plugins and themes for my websites, only to realize it was a waste of money.
On the other hand, I felt joy because I won’t have to shell out for such fancy WordPress elements anymore. I can now get them at no cost.
In case you are wondering, there’s nothing illegal or dubious involved. There is a savvy method I can apply to obtain these almost for free, legitimately and fairly.
Most WordPress website owners aren’t familiar with this nifty license trick.
