And Virus and Rogue return. And you know we’re gonna have to give Rogue and Virus their own storyline because of all the East and Lothar time we’ve had. *East say’s he’ll do it*. Well, even better.

You know, this comic probably has my favourite Lothar line in it.

Before I get on with my normal arseholish news-post, I would just like to say, HAPPY 1ST ANNIVERSARY RAQUEL!

Anyway, while sitting on the toilet, having a shite and playing Sonic Advance 3 on my GBA SP I came to a realisation.

I do not like Sonic anymore. Not one fucking bit.

Let me explain, my love of Sonic grows from the Megadrive. The games then were beautiful pieces of art that demanded you blast through the levels at stupid speed. And have as much fun as possible while doing it. So I’m playing Sonic Advance 3 and wondering why it felt there was something missing.

It was fun. Sonic Advance 3 is NO FUN to play, at all. And its not just Advance 3, its all the advances and every game since pretty much Sonic 3D. And let’s face it, Sonic Heroes was just down right PAINFUL to play. I look at Sonic Adventure…it was crap, the only thing good about it was the Sonic Levels and even they were done in some stupid ways. The pinball levels were pointless the snowboarding bit while looking cool had rather odd controls and lacked any thing fun. And wandering around in-between levels was just plain fucking STUPID. FISHING? IN A SONIC GAME WHAT THE HELL? THE FIND THE EMERALD LEVELS? SONIC IS ABOUT SPEED, NOT PLAYING A RETARDED VERSION OF HIDE AND SEEK. The Amy levels were just down right boring. Generic platform game trash.

Sonic Adventure 2. A big improvement on the Sonic levels. But everything else was FUCKING AWFUL. And just rehashes of the stuff I didn’t like in Sonic Adventure 1. The Robotnik/Tails levels were just fucking Gamma redone and the Knuckles/BatFuck levels, WHY BRING BACK THE SECOND STUPIDEST IDEA FROM SONIC ADVENTURE. And Shadow, why do people like Shadow, he’s Sonic with angst.

Sonic Battle, WHY THE FUCK DID I BUY THAT IDIOTIC FUCKED UP SMASH BROTHERS WANNABE, ITS NOT EVEN FUN, ITS FUCKING ANNOYING WHEN YOU GET YOUR HEAD KICKED IN BY ROUGE THE 42ND FUCKING TIME.

And now I look at Sonic Heroes, there was only ONE good level in that game, and to finish the game you had to fucking play every level 4 times with 4 different teams, the only difference between them being MORE idiotic redundant characters. Don’t give me that “But in Chaotix you had to find stuff” THAT WAS THE WORST FUCKING PART!

The only thing I now like about the Sonic games is Knuckles design, and even then I changed it to make it look better. I know people look at Lothar and say “Ooh, Knuckles, SONIC!” BUT quite frankly I have HAD IT with the Sonic series. It’s dead to me now.

I look at the Halo series, I look at Bungie, and pray the same over merchandising, over extension and over diversifying of genres does not happen to Halo. And I am filled with Hope. Microsoft may own Bungie, but Microsoft let them do their own thing. Microsoft knows that Bungie does its best work by itself. I am filled with hope that Bungie will not make fucking stupid decisions and drive a fucking brilliant story driven sci-fi epic FPS into the fucking ground like Sega did with their most famous and popular product.

10 Days left until Halo 2. Days left to new Sonic, I don’t give a fucking shit.

And before anyone ask’s, EN is not going anywhere. And Lothar is not changing, like I stated I liked the design for the Echidna’s. Only time Lothar will ever change if say Sega either sues us or somebody offers us a job doing the comic but I need to change his design so we can do so without getting sued. *BIG HINT FOR KEENSPOT!*

I dunno what the hell I did to my wrist, but it was hurting like buggery. It is admittedly my left wrist, and I’m right handed – but efficient use of Photoshop requires both hands. I layed off using it for a bit tonight, and yeah, it’s a bit better, but it’s late now, an I’m gonna try and sleep it off, finish up the comic tomorrow. L9r.

These three *points to above posts* are all big TF fans, while I can take it or leave it. That whole franchise takes itself way too seriously. This comic is not my worst one but not my best either. Don’t worry, the action really starts next week.

I’d like to give a bit of pimpage out to Yahtzee of Fully Ramblomatic. He’s funny and does great games. GO NOW DAMNIT!

I have no proper update at this time. As I’m tired and can’t be arsed. Maybe I’ll type something tomorrow or the other guys will bung something up here. I think Virus had some fan art to stick up.

Ok technically its 26 since its not out in the UK till November 11th (which ironically is Armistice Day). But I’ll be getting it two days early because that’s when it is delivered to work.

Did anyone else notice that all the other times I used numbers in this post, I used the actual numbers? Where as when I said I’d be getting the game two days early, I wrote “two”?

#063 – Irrational Fear

Who loves the chocolate? Everyone loves the chocolate!

Well, with that out of the way, time to move onto something I’ve been putting off for too bloody long. Yes, it was the Amazing Super Fun Draw Eastwood And Get Free Shit Competition. I’ve not put it off because I don’t want to get rid of these G-Mail invites, Gods know I do. Just I’ve had other shite get in the way as of late, leading to this being around a fortnight behind schedule.
So, lets be honest. I got a good number of entries, more than I expected (I expected two) so I was happy with that. Also, all of them are being put up in the Fanart section, as they still are classed as Fanart, even though you all
entered solely to get free stuff.
So, lets be honest. There can only be one. Well. Six. And with 15 entries, including 5 by the same person (You crazy bastard, Rick), it was tough. very tough. But choose I did.

In Sixth Place, is Eclipse the Echidna, simply for sending in 5 entries. The fact they were of utterly stellar quality helps this
decision too, especially his fifth version.

In Fifth Place, is Tristan. You may recall this being the same guy who won
Lothar’s script competition a while back. However, he sent in a stunning entry that gives a more… I dunno, “natural” looking Eastwood. Well, as natural as an anthmorphic talking artic fox can really be, I suppose.

In Fourth Place, is Rafael Pereira. C’mon, its somewhat cute, has a nifty background and coffee. Coffee! I was over the moon when I got this, if only because I thought it was ace.

In Third Place, is Blackie2518. Quasi-medieval-fantasy-steampunkish Eastwood? Yes please! .

In Second Place, is Alan Foreman, of SSDD fame. The only animated entry, Al really pulled out all the stops with this which would have ranked if it had been a static image, and was pretty much assured a top spot. What annoys me is I can’t really give it joint first.

In First Place, is Junior Th Animator. I love the pose, the look, the whole damned feel of this picture. It’s bloody great, and the only way I could really give this the top spot over Al, Blackie and Rafael is the rolling of a dice. It was that bloody close.
To those who didn’t win, I can merely thank you for doing such a fine batch of pictures. It pains me I can’t give all who entered an Invite, but at the very least your works are up on the site for all to see. So there. It’s done.
