weird, I’ve seen the name Discworld here and there on the interwebs, and yet I’ve never heard of mister Pratchett, this kind of stuff happens to me a lot, and it’s starting to weird me out

well, my teachers were really nice and extremely helpful, I’m referring to me peers who seem to have moron-itis, the only people who actually used their brains were my friends, well, and one ex-friend who showed herself to be a self-righteous wench
Pratchett writes a series of novels about the Discworld, which is a disc that rests on the back of four elephants who are standing on the back of a turtle which carries it through space. They are, in the main, hilariously funny and have sold more copies than a very large number of copies indeed.
Different people will tell you different books to start with, but my suggestion is either “Men at Arms” and “Witches Abroad”, depending on if you want male or female main characters.
(No, they aren’t the first books in their respective series, but I think they’re the best).

American humor too, but old humor. The cover of the book in question is the old “Let Your Fingers Do The Walking” icon that the phone book covers used to have back when phone books were the only way to find a number you wanted. Thus, “The Book of the Phone Numbers of the Dead”.
Well, he wrote the Wikipedia entry. In fact, from now on I’m calling it the Peter Fox Defense.

He had to give a speech by memory just before he became a full-on hunter, he practiced so much it became ingrained into his mind forever. He still passed, despite the 3 other students who did the same.
…That’d make sense if it were on the same article. On a side note, does Simmons have a Google glass, or do the “TOP SECRET” files include an entry from Wiki?
Y’know, I’m really looking forward to see how Virus and Rogue play off each other. It’s already been lampshaded in the comic itself but I’ll say it again, these two don’t really interact that much compared to… Well, everyone else, really.
By the way, speaking of training, I asked something like this a while back but didn’t really get an answer. What exactly does Daemon Hunter training as a whole involve?

learning about different types of daemons and their gods, beam sword training, martial arts, meditation, and being magnificently arrogant.
I’ll bet the latter is the most important skill of all.
That reminds me, we’ve never seen Rogue meditating or doing anything of the sort. *shrug*

I’ll bet Daemon hunters wrote the wikipedia article. Or use wikipedia regu – wait, indoor plumbing incident, right, so only Rogue would really know what wikipedia is. Welp, so much for that theory.

ok im amased but the fact he knows its a complete copy of wikipedia does that mean the inquisition also got it from wikipedia or are most summary’s described in the file hes holding?
I guess they just carried together all information available on the subject, so yes, I would say that it is just one of the summaries in the file.

I’m betting the book is full of all the daemons’ and dark gods’ phone numbers.
I mean, we know from some of the latter’s scenes that they do in fact have phones…
There’s probably one number with a message “If you know your daemon’s evil number press 1, if you wish to summon a familiar spirit press 2, if you wish to lodge a complaint we think you already know where to lodge it, for a complete listing of services press 3, if you are calling because a Fernex daemon has possessed your phone, COWER IN FEAR, FOR THERE IS NO HOPE!”

It’s not exactly hard to write up a wiki article I’ve written half a dozen myself. Not necessarily at wikipedia, but the point remains the advantage of wiki links is that they’re open source to anyone.

So the tome surfaced in Nautilus Gate Morth’s old hometown I wonder if there’s a connection or just one of those coincidences.

Reading Virus’s bio that he is a “radical inquisitor” and Nadia’s that she is a “Tyrusian purist of the highest order” makes me want a team-up between them or at least a rom com.
First off, in their defense: 1) Simmons did NOT let Virus finish. He didn’t know if Vi was gonna add to it or not. 2) Maybe Rogue WROTE the wiki entry, hmm? Didja thinka that Simmons?
After reading a few comments I realize the book is a Disc World reference, I gotta get my hands on those, but my main thought about the description was the Necrnomicon. While I haven’t actually seen the movie myself I know of it and get the reference.
