Considering Nadia’s temperament- and team- I think they may soon regret being “saved”. What does it say on Virus’s profile? That they hope he crosses paths with a Tyrusian Puritan who removes him from their concerns? And what is Nadia again? This is gonna get hilariously interesting fast. Also, I predict that nothing of the monastery will remain standing once this is over.
Virus is going to suggest a purification ritual. That has to be done in a bed. With at least one woman. Preferably more.
What? Sometime, I can think like a character, if I’ve read enough. And Virus is a horny bastard with a sometimes absent self preservation instinct!

That comic is made up of nothing BUT anticlimaxes.
… The good kind, but still.
8-bit Theatre is also made of hilarity and comedic sociopathy. And more hilarity. And some really really amazing brick jokes. And characters that are likable bastards.
So, yeah. I recommend 8-Bit Theatre too.
My only problem with 8-bit is that it’s animated and it doesn’t have a scroll bar so you can’t review or skip ahead to the parts that you want right away. Unless that feature has been modified I’m afraid I don’t have the patience to trawl through the archives more than once or twice.

It’s not animated, and I do remember animated versions, but they’re built from the comic there, as far as I know. Also, it’s the same guy who writes Atomic Robo, if you’re familiar with that work.

I did! If you look back far enough, I can prove it. Of course, I was expecting Wildcard (IS THAT HER NAME? I cannot remember at this point) to dumb luck or stumble bum her way into the situation somehow. It’s too bad Jamilla died in the refrigerator while house sitting, I’m sure she would have been thrilled to participate in the raid as well.

Ah, so now Deket and Eastwood interact. Wonder if any of the WMG for those two will be referenced.
Well clearly, if they knew who they were coming for, they would have just not bothered.
I imagine they’d have just skipped straight to the most probable conclusion of the situation and burned the place to the ground before entering. You know, in a “Fuck it, it’ll probably go to hell anyway” kind of way.

Apart from Lother, Wildfire’s my favourite character. She reminds me of when I was in my first job – very enthusiastic, full of naivety, and trouble-causing in the eyes of others.

Hmmm, I don’t remember 2/3 of this team. Let’s check the cast page!
Team leader, “-No- concept of restraint”, “armories problem”, yup that makes sense.
Next, “hot-headed whirlwind”, “poor impulse control”, “no understanding of the concept of restraint”, wow but that makes sense.
Let’s round out the team with the one I recognize, Wildfire: “Prone to massive collateral damage”, which basically translates to “no restraint”, which means I spy a pattern!
C-Team is composed entirely of folks with no restraint at all. I think C stands for Collateral.

C stands for ‘cleanup’. Or is it ‘cleansing’, in an Exterminatus sort of way?

Yeah, I’ve seen it posted on WMG of the comic’s tvtropes that Eastwood and Deket are fuck buddies and only occasionally meet to blow off steam because neither of them would be very desirable to the opposite sex.
Come to think about it, I suggested that only a reveal that Vitani and Deket are mother and daughter could save Virus at this point. Wouldn’t it weird if that were true, and that Vitani’s plan is to summon daemonic offspring that Deket had by Eastwood that Vitani hid for safety reasons?
Uh oh, remember the last “acquaintance” Eastwood had with a certain one-eyed badger? If this is the ex… i assume she’s the other side of the coin to the heathens. The “PURGE THE ALIEN!” type of zealot… then again she did meet East so she’s no pure child.
Just wait till she finds out what happened to virus, then the furrs really going to fly!
Well, at least they’ve got one person right for the job – the monastery needs to be taken down… and Wildfire has a great track record of doing just that.
I’m waiting to see if Virus gets purged for putting it into daemons willingly.
Was he really all that willing? After all he was stuck in a locked room with a demon spider woman she could have tied him up and had her way with him. And then he would not have been free to get away after…. Since he was in a no win situation he probably figured that going with the flow was the easy way out… give her what she wanted and try to get away. Which by the way worked…… to an extent… if Rogue hadn’t f**ked up they might have even gotten away.
He’s alive and his head is intact. The others have already heard he jumped her bones from the cultists. He’s practically admitted as such.
His survival is damning in itself, especially if he’s facing a puritan Inquisitor. Giving in to the Daemon is cooperation with the unholy. Partaking in their rituals had been reason enough to execute people, as happened in that tomb where those Goth teens sacrificed chickens.
So, purging. He joined their rituals. He’s heretical. Whet do we do with heretics?
Actually the kids in the tomb committed murder (as the chickens were classmates not barnyard fowl) and raised the dead of their own free will, hence the execution.
Virus was coerced in to it by being locked in a room with a daemon. He either got tied up raped and dead…. or got laid with a chance of escape. He can argue that he had to do it being an Inquisitor to find out more about the plans and to try to stop her.
So he took a path that gave him a chance to escape and warn the others. They would have gotten away clean if Rogue had not been an overconfident idiot. In a way he was in his own blundering way emulating Jamilla who DOES go into places of evil and sometimes has to join in to get information. That is what spies do.
He also is part of the Inquisition which as was stated when Lothar had to go to court for file sharing (if I remember correctly) that he is pretty much immune from any laws… maybe not all but sometime you have to do a dirty job to get what you need….
‘Course Virus will only think of these things to try and save his own skin… or once Team C is done with this place the only ones who will know will be his own team… though they may have no problem selling them out.
Chances are that nothing short of a surprise reveal that Vitani and Deket are mother and daughter can save Virus now.
