Well, that was incredibly frustrating.
Sick as a fucking dog the past week, gonna be honest, I didn’t even try to start, just played a shitload of FTL. And the coming weekend is Calgary Expo. Sooo, see you next month? I didn’t even get any new prints done, so that sucked. Did make this though, which turned out alright.
Oh hey. Long time no see. What have you been up to? Me, I was working on a thing for a thing. Took longer than I thought. And cost more than I hoped, and I still don’t know if I’ll get them in time. But I’m looking forward to seeing EN in print at last, if only one short story.
Sooo, listen. Titanfall next weekend. I mean I’ll try, but… Titanfall.
You doubt the validity of my Word of God usage? Fine. I’m not even responsible for the first couple uses, but it usually makes a good shorthand for noting when I’ve edited things. Here, though, I’ll back myself up.
* I always took it that the dark gods somehow played off from the light gods [snip]
Dunno who thought this up. An interesting concept, but not one in actual use. They are, indeed, misreading into things. The fact that we have a matching number on each side and only four primary gods is a legacy effect of early worldbuilding anyway.
* Has there ever been an explanation why there’s no hedgehogs in the comic? [snip]
The actual reason is that we wanted to do different species and avoid the tired standards of the style.
And while I’m here, I’ll back the other ones up.
Besides, they’ve pointed out both in-strip and by Word of God that it’s not the actual 40K universe [snip]
This. As many times as is nessecery to get it through people’s heads.
By Word of God, they’re still not gonna try publishing it, though. If Sega’s lawyers don’t murder them, GW’s will.
This one is the only one that I dispute, but it may have been an old quotable stance of one of the others. In recent terms though, we’re actually just too unmotivated to do the groundwork and foot the bills involved in putting together a book for an uncertain return. The idea was thrown about a couple years back but didn’t hold traction.
Next time on “Silv’ comments TvTropes Pages”. the WMG Page! Keep that hilarity going, because on the mark or not it’s fun to watch you go.
So everybody pumped about that thing? You know the one you keep hearing all that buzz about in the news. All that excitement and adrenaline in a faraway land, as brave men and women combine peak physical conditioning with cutting edge technology resulting in the ultimate competition.
The Olwhatpics? No dumbass, Titanfall. Just pre-ordered today.
Confidential to Garrus: You’re welcome.
So at the beginning of this story, I mentioned that it was a long time in the making. This script is the first one to have originated from the first draft. In about 2004. Yes, you are right to gasp, sir.
Hey kids! If this punchline was written before you were born, get in touch and make everyone feel really old! And then stop reading our monstrous comic, you’re a child.
It’s going to be pretty East- and Virus-centric. Partly that’s because the first snippets of dialogue that turned into Tangled Web were written before Rogue and Lothar joined the cast. I was bouncing dialogue around between the two Inquisitors in order to get a feel for their relationship.
Much has changed, many revisions have happened, but it feels good to be putting this out, at last. It will benefit from the improvements in art and layout. Like George Lucas and the prequels, I guess the technology simply didn’t exist to bring the story to life ten years ago. Wait, that’s a terrible endorsement, forget that.
Backgrounds I can sort of get going on, if they’re something interesting, like the monastery in the last comic. Trying to do a fucking office though, holy crap. That’s why neither Simmons or Schaefer have any sort of interior design in their offices to date. Trying a bit harder now though.
I believe this comic came 7 days after the last one. Odd time of the week, mind. But better.
