Hmm. A Tapdancing corpse MIGHT be as frightening as a Tapdancing Rat.
And for that matter, what if the corpse is doing a Mime act? What level of sign is that?

Oh just noticed: It’s a good thing Eastwood took the time to reload right after he unloaded on Morth on the last page. (That’s nice attention to detail on the artist’s part)
Well an empty gun is a useless gun after all. If video games have taught me anything, it’s that you reload every time you have a free moment because you never know when that extra bullet can save your life.

Well, considering it involves our protagonists NOT being in a situation where the shit’s hit the fan, a lot of people would think so too.
Must be a shout-out to The Avengers, where they went out to get a Shawarma… and are so dead tired from their bout against an alien invasion.
Now I’m imagining Rogue with a face prosthetic because he’s grown a beard for his next movie. (That was the reason they didn’t show Cap’s face in the shawarma bit.)
My imagination gives him a Bruce Campbell chin as a result of that.
…I kinda like my imagination.

It would be fittingly anticlimatic. And therefore hilarious.
But I guess they preferred to go the dramatic route. Well, okay, given the last panel it’s not entirely dramatic, but you know what I mean…
I loved Morth’s “exalted form” when it was first presented (and wallpaper-ized shortly after, wasn’t it ?) I am glad we get to see it in action ; )
I’ve got a niggling feeling that Morth is going to be defused by some other lie that comes right the fudge out of nowhere.
Am I the only person that noticed Daemon Morth has man boobs?
Looks like the lower part of ribcage to me. It’s covered by the evil laughter so we can’t say that for sure yet, but as it seems to widen downwards makes it rather much like man boobs.
It’s eally in comics like this you get to really appreciate the quality of the art. Morth’s transformation is some of the best drawn stuff I’ve ever seen on Exterminatus Now. Look at that shit eating grin when he first transforms, and then just… wow.
Why does he transformer into a pattern-like One Winged Angel form when he used Demon blood from a Cerberus (A massive dog). Shouldn’t he have become like that instead?
might have to do with that he has the sign of the patterner on his hand and he probably only used the energy of the blood to power it to transform himself.(just a wild guess wel need to wait for virus profesional awnser.)
Pretty much. The ichor of the Cerberus was just a catalyst for Morth’s transformation – he’s still an agent of the Patterner, and that influences and informs his newly ‘ascended’ state much more than the means by which he transformed.
And Eastwood was right, the blood would have killed anybody else. Anyone who hadn’t already earned a god’s favour.
…well, if Lothar still has any cunning plans left, now would be a great time to instill one.
Also, that alternate ending panel = genius. That should be a wallpaper, methinks. XD

…So, conversely, there are occasionally times where a corpse laughing IS a good sign?
Case in point when a laughing corpse is good for the short run- when Dr. Yue was killed on Dune, and he effectivly laughs at the Baron… But he got killed…. Yeah. There is no time when a moving corpse ios EVER a good sign.
Rule of thumb then- if you killed it, and it’s laughing, kill it again. Harder.
I dunno, if I told a joke that was so hilarious it made a nearby corpse spring back to life just to laugh at it, I’d be pretty damn pleased with myself.
Course, that’s assuming it went back to being a corpse afterwards. But that could be just me.

Meira: It’s meant to be subtle, so I’m pleased to see someone get that surprise. Silversword first implemented it (randomly swapping out Rogue for Wildfire during her storyline) without telling anyone, and it took the rest of us a while to notice. I think first I heard was when someone on the forum pointed it out.
Like, I know, it took awhile for me to notice it and then I thought that my eyes where playing tricks on me.
